Divorce Lawyer in Love Episode 6 Recap

So, we get to watch them kiss again. And it was only Episode 5! Yay for skinship!

Episode starts with Jung Woo and Cheok Hee arguing over whether kissing means that people love each other. He’s saying that kissing and love aren't related? Then Jung Woo could kiss anyone even if he didn't love them! Jung Woo protests that that's not what he’s not saying! Cheok Hee tells him to prove it! Jung Woo sighs a ‘seriously, this woman!’ sigh. She goads him.

Romantic piano music plays as he kisses her. Min Kyu arrives to see it and to see them both spring backward, horrified that they just kissed. Jung Woo, especially, is freaking out. Partially because he just initiated that liplock. Cheok Hee glances in Min Kyu’s direction and sees his shocked face. She hurries out to talk to him. Jung Woo notices Min Kyu and sheepishly steps out of his office. Cheok Hee can hardly speak as she asks him if he saw it? Min Kyu has regained his composure. He looks over at Jung Woo, who looks down at the floor, ashamed. She repeats the question and Min Kyu asks her what he might have seen. She tries to be convincing as she says that it was nothing. They were just fighting. She was wondering if he saw them. Jung Woo still can’t make eye contact.

Cheok Hee tells Min Kyu that they should go. She wants to go home quickly and rest. As she rushes past Min Kyu, she knocks his phone out of his hand. Jung Woo reaches down to pick it up and Min Kyu slaps his hand. Then he ‘apologizes.’ It was unconsciously done. They stand back up and Min Kyu, pointedly, tells Jung Woo that he has a personality where he hates others if they touch something of his. Heh. Cheok Hee has returned to hear that and is really uncomfortable now. She makes Min Kyu leave. And Jung Woo looks like he wants to be sick. As they go, he has to brace himself against the wall not to fall over.

Out in the hall, Min Kyu stops walking and asks Cheok Hee why she’s at the office so late with Jung Woo. She replies, sounding guilty, that it was nothing. Some lady came for a divorce because of a kiss. Jung Woo said that a kiss isn't enough of a reason for a divorce. She told him to prove it and they were arguing... Sunbae is in scolding mode. Min Kyu asks her who the building belongs to. Him, of course. Who accepts the rent for the place? He does. Min Kyu says that he’s saying don't kiss So Jung Woo just to acquire a case! Cheok Hee puts a hand over her mouth, horrified that he *did* see it.

Cheok Hee says that Min Kyu said that he didn't see it. Min Kyu looks away and says that if he said that he had seen it, he felt like he would have thrown a punch at Jung Woo. Cheok Hee looks a little confused, since they’re fake dating. Min Kyu adds that he’s her boyfriend officially. Cheok Hee quietly replies, “okay.” Min Kyu sighs and tells Cheok Hee that she’s easy She gives up her lips over one case. He leans in closer to her face and asks if she’s going to do it for him, too. Heh. She slaps him on the shoulder indignantly. He leans back and says that if she can't do it with him, don't do it with others either. Even if it is fake, he doesn't want to become the dullard who can't even handle his own woman.

Now at home, Jung Woo is talking to himself, asking what he just did. No matter how you look at it, that woman's lips... He is horrified and runs his fingers through his hair to try to calm himself. Knock on the door. Soo Ah enters. And Jung Woo’s sweatshirt looks like it’s inside out, because the English lettering, ‘Ok Then’ are backward. She asks him what’s wrong. He’s wearing his sweatshirt inside out. Jung Woo chuckles awkwardly and quickly turns it inside out. Soo Ah turns around like he’s totally changing or something.

Jung Woo announces that it's done! It's done. Soo Ah turns around and looks at him strangely again. She tells him that he’s wearing it wrong again. This time it’s backwards. I am laughing. Jung Woo mutters, asking why he’s like this today? He must be tired! Without taking the sweatshirt off, he rotates it around so that the ‘Ok Then’ is in the front. It's good now, right?

Soo Ah holds out some candy wrappers – the same wrappers that we left at the mausoleum and the same wrapper that Jung Woo has saved. Soo Ah says that her client also said that she lived after eating this candy. Jung Woo can’t believe it. Soo Ah puts the wrappers in that Civil Law book and says that she’s emailed the victims and the families, so they should wait for the replies. Wow, she really knows him if she knows that that’s where he stored the wrapper he had. He thanks her.

Doorbell. Soo Ah runs downstairs to get it. And even though this is good news that he’s been waiting and yearning for, instead his mind wanders back to the kiss. After a moment, he slaps his mouth and then his face and then he screams in frustration.

Min Kyu is at home, lying on top of his bed. He’s not very at ease. He sits up, bothered. He gets up and grabs some things from his drawers, as well as some toiletries. Is he going on a trip? Not planning on spending the night at Cheok Hee’s, is he?

Cheok Hee is in the bathroom, looking dazed as she washes her face. She slowly rubs the soap in. It looks awfully thick. After a moment, she grunts, because it’s not cleanser, it’s her toothpaste. She quickly washes it off.

Doorbell rings. She hurries to the door and – he didn’t – it’s Min Kyu with a suitcase. She groans, asking why he’s there. He walks into her bedroom and proceeds to open the suitcase. She asks him what he’s doing. Min Kyu declares that in her house, what smells less than side dishes is the smell of a man. Cheok Hee rolls her eyes. Min Kyu declares that if someone visits, they'll find it suspicious, so they need to furnish some props at least. She asks him if he’s ever seen a guest come to her house. He’s setting things up now. He tells her that they have to sell it properly for her not to make a mistake like she did today. His stuff includes an electric razor, toiletries, cologne and a pillow.

She changes the subject. Cheok Hee asks him what his good news was. Earlier on the phone, he said there was good news. Min Kyu starts to say that Jo Soo Ah and So Jung Woo... He hesitates as he tries to think of something and comes up with: They're not suspicious of his and Cheok Hee’s relationship at all. Doh! What is he doing?! Cheok Hee looks disappointed as she says that that’s good then.

And then, Min Kyu is shameless. Min Kyu stretches out on his ‘side’ of the bed and says that since they’re already acting... How about it? Does she want to lie down? Cheok Hee looks at him scandalizes and asks if he wants to get hit! She whacks him hard with her towel. She tells to get up quickly. He is really a scoundrel. He totally was hassling her.

Couple driving in a car. Wife is driving and she’s speeding up to over 120 km/hr (or over 75 miles per hour). They’re on a narrow, two-lane road, so husband reaches up and grabs the handle by the window. And he’s the butcher from ‘The Suspicious Housekeeper.’ Wife glances over at him and sighs and then starts to really drive erratically. And she’s the youngest Aunt from ‘100-Year Inheritance.’ They end up crashing into a pole. As husband sits there, his head bloody from where it smacked the windshield – even though he was wearing his seatbelt and at least in America, that year of car would have had an airbag. Husband weakly says they should get s divorce.

[Episode Six: The Correlation Between a Kiss and Love]

Next day, Jung Woo and Cheok Hee run into each other at the office. They don’t say anything and are awkward. They do the ‘I’m-trying-to-pass-but-you’re-trying-to-pass-on-the-same-side’ dance.

Jung Sook announces, “Kiss?!” Cheok Hee spins around and she and Jung Woo look at Jung Sook shocked. Jung Sook is not paying attention to them at all. She’s incensed over the latest woman who came in looking to divorce because her husband won’t kiss her:
Look at this bullshit! Aren't they totally ridiculous fools?! Does she have a ghost of a woman who never received a kiss following her around or something? Look at her blathering such ridiculous nonsense worthy of getting her tongue cut off.
As Jung Sook is ranting, Jung Woo tries to take a sip of his tea and almost spills it all over himself, his hand is shaking so much.

Jung Sook throws the case down, furious, and continues to rant:
She has to have her lips cut right off and made into a soy sauce pickled side dish until she dies for her to come to her senses. Does kissing earn you money or food? If her husband won't do it to her, then she can just do it! Why is she throwing a fit over a kiss, that she needs a divorce?
Wow, she is mad. Jung Sook smacks her desk with the case file again.

Kyung is trying hard not to laugh. He says that he doesn’t think that he could live if he couldn't kiss. Min Kyu enters and declares, “Me too.” Jung Sook immediately puts her pleasant face back on and greets him.

Yoo Mi asks Min Kyu if he agrees. He wouldn’t be able to live if he couldn’t kiss, right? He replies, with a coy smile, that of course he can't live on. Without a kiss. He turns around and plants one on Cheok Hee’s cheek. Her eyes bug. And I laugh. He is such a scoundrel! He heads off to his office. Kyung cringes because his eyes witnessed that.

Suddenly, a voice starts saying, “Kiss. Kiss.” Cheok Hee’s vision gets weird and it looks like it’s affecting Jung Woo, too. Both of them start patting at their ears, like something’s wrong with them. As the voice says, “Kiss me darling, kiss me. Kiss me tonight.” Cheok Hee mutters that she’s not the only one who can hear this right now, right? An equally freaked out Jung Woo stutters, asking w-w-where exactly is it coming from all of a sudden?

Kyung smiles over at them and says that it’s him. He changed his ringtone. Jung Woo looks like he wants to punch Kyung for that. And I was wondering if it was something Min Kyu was doing to torment them. Kyung answers the phone and tells the caller, who is saying that they kidnapped his son, to please help the boy grow up to be a good person, you crazy person! He hangs up. Cheok Hee protests, asking why Kyung would suddenly... change his ringtone. Jung Woo sputters that h-h-h-he’ll be right back and heads for his office. Cheok Hee sputters that sh-sh-she’ll get some coffee. That’s not weird at all.

Later, Jung Woo has gone to a lab. A man – the actor Alex, who shouldn’t wear his hair that color, since it makes him look sickly – greets him. Jung Woo asks if he is No Gi Soo. He is. Jung Woo gives him, his card. They head outside. They’re now sitting by a lake. With cherry blossoms in the distance. That’s one thing I definitely want to see when I’m in Korea, the cherry blossoms. Gi Soo looks sad.

Gently, Jung Woo asks if he can ask why Gi Soo doesn't kiss his wife? Gi Soo sighs and says that he has philemaphobia. It's a type of kiss phobia. The drama defines that for the audience and my subs tell me that, when kissing, feelings of stickiness, increase in temperature, smell sensitivity, aversion, and fear arise. That doesn’t sound pleasant. He says that when he was younger, his father passed away from tuberculosis. His mother contracted it and has suffered her whole life. Ever since then, he used separate cups and he never ever ate things like stew with others. He was cured of many other things at the hospital, but there was nothing he could do about kissing. If he thinks of someone else's spit coming into his mouth, he starts feeling nauseated. Wow, that is a visual.

Gi Soo says that if anyone heard about this, they'd laugh. But every time he tries to kiss someone, he feels like he’s going to suffocate... Jung Woo finishes his sentence: And it's severe enough that you'd even faint. He’s thinking of his PTSD on the subway. Gi Soo looks at Jung Woo, surprised. How could he know that? Jung Woo replies that he knows how Gun Woo feels better than anyone. Truthfully, he has a similar phobia. On the day he was to take my law exam, he experienced a subway accident. Whenever he entered the testing location, he felt like he was in a fiery burning train, so he ran away from the testing facility doorway every time.

Gi Soo asks if Jung Woo recovered. Jung Woo smiles and says that four years after the accident, he just barely went to law school. He was able to recover from most other things to a point, but he still can't get on the subway. He suggests that they challenge their phobias together. Gi Soo will kiss his wife. He will get on the subway. Then they both smiles slightly.

Jung Woo is in the metro station. He looks like he’s really trying not to freak out. He’s standing in the way, so people shove him to get in and he ends up stumbling into the car. He starts to freak out and stumbles out of the car. He doesn’t run out of the station this time, though. Sound effects of people screaming.

Back at the office, Cheok Hee looks at the lips pillow. Why it’s lips… Kyung remarks that at the previous office, even a Sunday was like a Monday. Why is every day like a Sunday here? Jung Sook sighs and says that even if she sold electric blankets in Africa she would be busier there than there. Yoo Mi is busy messing with her makeup. She suggests putting an ad on TV. Cheok Hee says that they should just make appearances on programs instead. She’s going to call a writer friend of her.

Kyung – the butthead – asks her if she has friends. She laughs like he's stupid – and he is being kind of stupid right now. That was really insulting – and asks where in the world can you find a person without friends? She asks them if they’ve heard of XBS's program called "Lawyers." Her friend is this program's writer. Jung Sook is impressed. That place is like a jackpot even if you only make an appearance.

Cheok Hee calls and Baek Bo Hee doesn’t remember her. Cheok Hee says that they were friends 15 years ago. They even ran into each other once or twice when they went to school together and sat next to each other three times during lunch time. Hearing this, Kyung asks where that’s even a friend. Cheok Hee says that she moved offices and... even though they are busy, she can let their lawyer appear on her show. Baek Bo Hee hangs up.

Kyung starts to chuckle. Then he notices what he's been absent-mindedly doodling: a sketch of Yoo Mi. He freaks out and quickly hides it. He sputters that he didn't draw anything. Nothing!

Staff dinner. Jung Woo and Cheok Hee end up sitting across from each other and steal glances at each other over their menus. Waiter comes for their order. Cheok Hee says that she wants shrimp (“saeu”), which makes her lips pucker. Jung Woo can’t help but focus on them. Cheok Hee says that for the sauce, olive oil (“ollibeuyu”). And for the drink, she wants a beer (“maegju”). Jung Woo cringes because he is struggling. Cheok Hee realizes that her stomach isn't feeling good so she changes her drink order to soy milk (“duyu”). I bet the writer had fun coming up with all of that.

Jung Woo can’t take it and slaps himself. Everyone is surprised and a little worried. Jung Woo chugs some water. Kyung asks Jung Woo to talk with him a bit later. Because he wants to talk about Yoo Mi.

Later, Jung Woo and Kyung are at a café, with food and Soju. Not the Soju. You guys really shouldn’t be getting drunk right now. Kyung picks up a carrot and a cucumber. He declares that this is her and this is him. And if they get closer together – illustrating with the veggies – they become together. Does Jung Woo know what he’s saying? Jung Woo says that he does. Kyung protests that she's totally not his style! Even if she told him that she'd do a total body plastic surgery to make her look like Kim Tae Hee, he'd say "no, thank you." Kim Tae Hee played the princess in ‘My Princess’ and she’s 5 years older than him. A little noona crush, huh?

Jung Woo agrees and Kyung is confused. Jung Woo tells him that it’s nothing and takes another drink. Kyung says that now that they’ve done all this... (He rubs the veggies together.) Can a person be like this? Kyung protests that she's not doing anything but it still grabs his attention and he can't stop thinking about her. What's even worse, he can't believe it. He’s saying that she even looked really pretty today. He starts laughing and Jung Woo laughs with him and agrees. Kyung wants to know what he means.

Jung Woo declares that it’s nothing. He stands up, stiff like he’s freaking out. He grabs the cucumber and shoves it into his mouth. Kyung asks why Jung Woo is eating her, whining with protest. His mouth full, Jung Woo declares that he can't do this. He'll leave first. He rushes out of the restaurant.

Walking down the street, Jung Woo yells at himself to come to his senses, you fool! Why- why are you like this?! He groans and tries to calm himself. Humans are rational animals. She's a style that he hates the most. He encourages himself to think like that: “That's right. That's right.” He points out that that woman is already someone else's. Again, he encourages himself: “Okay. That will do.” He is cracking me up. He looks up from the ground to look straight into a billboard of a woman with bright red lips, puckered in a kiss. He yells and then starts to cry pathetically.

Cheok Hee is at home. She’s having the same problem. She tells herself that that man is someone else's man. It’s like she’s chanting. He's a man that really hates her! She was rejected. She opens her eyes and sees the lips pillow. Why did she bring it home? She remembers the kiss and shakes her head to try and shake loose the memory. She asks why that kiss is such a big deal. She gets up, grabs the pillow, throws it on the ground and stomps on it several times. Then she kicks it under a chair.

Min Kyu arrives home and is startled. Bong was sitting in his living room *in the dark.* He asks his dad what the old man would have done if he'd brought a woman home. Bong replies that Min Kyu won’t even pick up his phone. If he didn't do this, would he ever see Min Kyu’s face? Min Kyu replies that family members aren't supposed to see each other that often. What if they grow attached? Heh. He’s really funny.

Bong asks why Min Kyu hasn’t fired Cheok Hee yet. Min Kyu asks if Bong has someone watching him now. Bong stands up and goes over to Min Kyu’s desk. He picks up a box that’s sitting there. He tells Min Kyu that there's only one way to handle a child who doesn't listen even when you give him candy. Bong opens the box and takes out the key. He opens the other five boxes and takes those keys, too. Then he pointedly tells Min Kyu that you take away the candy that's in the child’s mouth. Min Kyu doesn’t even look worried.

Min Kyu calls Bong, “Father.” Bong asks if Min Kyu is finally calling him, “Father.” Min Kyu asks if Bong is threatening him. Bong declares that it's not a request. Then he holds the keys out to Min Kyu and says for him to come to get them when Min Kyu has the answer that he wants. Then he goes. Min Kyu nods after him and sighs.

Soo Ah is meeting with her client at a café. It looks like the client is a waitress there. She tells Girl to get her a hospital diagnosis record and a copy of the citizen basic livelihood beneficiary certificate. Girl wants to know if she might receive compensation. Soo Ah is optimistic. Then she asks about the candy. Does she remember the face of the person who gave it to her? Girl doesn’t. Soo Ah asks if Girl remembers the clothes the woman wore or a description?

Flashback to girl struggling to crawl on the ground. Her left hand is horribly burnt. She sees a woman on the ground, with high heels. She begs the woman to save her. Not the same shoes. Jung Woo’s woman wore brown shoes. These are black. Woman helps Girl sit up and feeds her a candy. She has nails with yellow-orange tips. Girl declares, “Balsam dye. She had colored her fingernails with balsam.”

Girl asks if it’s important. Soo Ah asks if Girl has the contact numbers for the other victims. She does. Soo Ah writes to them, about the woman who was black high heels with ribbons on them, with fingernails colored with balsam. They also say that during the accident she gave out peppermint candy to those in dangerous condition.

Cheok Hee’s phone rings. She’s excited by the caller. Of course he's done it often! He needs to be there in 30 minutes. Cheok Hee runs to get Jung Woo, but he's not in his office. Instead, he’s in the bathroom, on the toilet. Cheok Hee rushes into the bathroom to find him and asks if he’s pooping. He asks her what she's doing. She tells him that they don't have time. He needs to cut it off. Heh.

Outside, she’s told him it’s a television show. He’s not interested, but she doesn’t let him get away. Good physical comedy here. Cheok Hee declares that it's hard to be on one without powerful connections! Her close friend is a writer for XBS's "Lawyers" and one of the lawyers suddenly dropped out. She hails a taxi and Jung Woo reluctantly decides to go.

In the cab, they are a bit uncomfortable, sitting so close together. Jung Woo starts to bring it up, but can’t say the word ‘kiss.’ He tells her that it was done without even 1% feeling. Cheok Hee, of course, knows that. To show her that he had no feelings for her, he ki- did that. Why do I think they’re going to kiss again before this episode is over? She says that she also don't have 0.000001% feelings towards him. Jung Woo looks a little disappointed. He asks when she and Lawyer Bong became like that? He thought that she didn't usually like his style. She asks how he would know her style? She mutters that he doesn't know anything about her heart. Oh, but he knows a lot about you. How you take your iced coffee, what type of medicated patches you like to use.

Television studio. It looks like a kids show. There are Chihuahuas with cutesy clothes on. Jung Woo asks her if this isn’t supposed to be the show, “Lawyers.” Cheok Hee wonders if her friend moved to a different show. The sign reads, “Animal Family.” Baek Bo Hee arrives and calls out Cheok Hee’s name. Cheok Hee acts like Bo Hee is pretending not to know her. Bo Hee sees her and says, “Oh, it was you.” It's been fifteen years since she saw Cheok Hee, so she didn't recognize her.

She introduces Jung Woo. He is, of course, awkward. It looks like Bo Hee thinks that he’s cute. Cheok Hee asks why Bo Hee is wanting a lawyer for an animal program. They specialize in things like divorce and illicit acts. Bo Hee smiles and says that it’s something similar. What has Cheok Hee gotten him into?

In another studio – coincidentally – Mi Ri is there talking about children receiving bone marrow transplants. There’s that picture she was moved by. Mi Ri is very somber as she speaks. With a bone marrow transplant, there are many children who could gain a new life. Again she looks at the picture and has to control herself. She asks the audience to please share the gift of life with these children.

Back to ‘Animal Family.’ MC says that it’s a new segment: Fixing your legal problems regarding your pets. They have So Jung Woo as the dog consultation lawyer. Nothing like divorce law. And is it just me who feels happy over the fact that dogs have so pervaded Korean society that now they’re doing shows about pets? Jung Woo bows awkwardly to the MC and the audience and stutters a ‘hello.’ MC tries to encourage him to speak comfortably.

The first client is Kyun Goong Nam from Gangneung. There are two Chihuahuas sitting in dog beds on the table in front of them. Mr. Kyun says that he gave 200,000 to the animal hospital so that his dog would be bred with a pure-blooded Chihuahua, but this mutt came out. I love how he pronounced Chihuahua. Shea-a-wa-wa. Awesomeness. He point accusatorily at the small dog. Mr. Kyun says that the hospital claims that his dog attacked the mutt first, but she doesn't have even 0.000001% interest in a mutt. That sounds familiar.

Offstage, Cheok Hee mutters that she supposed this counts as an illicit affair. MC asks Jung Woo is Mr. Kyun can get legal compensation? Jung Woo can’t really say anything. Bo Hee asks Cheok Hee what the deal is. She said he was often on shows. Cheok Hee supposes that Jung Woo must not be feeling so well. Jung Woo just sits there.

Mr. Kyun declares that the mutt's father needs to take responsibility for it. Jung Woo raises his hand and says, “Objection.” Mr. Kyun is surprised. So am I a little. Jung Woo puts his hands over the dog’s ears and asks if Mr. Kyun is going to keep calling her a mutt? The dog can hear him. Then he asks how Mr. Kyun knows how his dog is feeling. Even if it's not her preferred style, depending on the feelings, mood, and uncontrollable urges of that day... There are things like that. I am rolling now.

Bo Hee winces and says that it looks like Jung Woo’s going to ruin the corner. MC asks if Jung Woo’s saying that the dog made the mistake? Jung Woo starts to say something but stops. Instead he gets into legal mode and says that If it's the animal hospital's mistake then he can request termination of the contract due to breach of the obligation. Also, he can request a refund. Mr. Kyun likes that idea. Jung Woo tells him that, as he sees it, it will be Mr. Kyun’s loss.

MC wants to know what Jung Woo means. Jung Woo picks up the dog and cuddles it as he says that if Mr. Kyun wants a refund, he'll have to return this puppy. Does this puppy look like it's not even worth 200,000? Mr. Kyun thinks he's crazy. It's just a mutt. Covering the dog’s ear again. Jung Woo protests that Shih Tzus originally came from breeding a Lhaso Apso with a Pekingese. French Bulldogs are from mixing a Pug with a Terrier. Cheok Hee likes his reasoning.

Jung Woo pets the dog and says that in the end, even cross breeds, depending on how much love they receive from people, can be acknowledged as purebreds. That's what he’s saying. Cheok Hee smiles. Jung Woo holds up the puppy and says that the puppy is cute and smart enough looking to be recognized as a new breed. He kisses the dog and smiles at the camera. Cheok Hee smiles at how cool he is. Bo Hee laughs and says that Jung Woo has a nice smile. He has good TV sense.

Soo Ah’s office. Hye Rin comes with Lee Kyeong Hee's loss compensation settlement from Seoul Comprehensive Railway. Soo Ah looks and is insulted that they want to settle for *that* amount of money? She grabs her phone to call Girl and sees a text from one of the other Metro victims. The person knows the woman in the email that Soo Ah sent.

After the show is over, Jung Woo looks like he wants to be sick. He asks Cheok Hee if he did well. She tells him that he wasn’t as good as she was in her prime, but still, he sounded pretty good. A man walks up and hands Jung Woo his card. He is Producer Kang Yeon Woo of "Lawyers." He saw the filming and wants Jung Woo to make an appearance on his show. Cheok Hee is excited but Jung Woo says that he won’t do it. He tries to run off.

Cheok Hee goes after him and makes him stop. Why isn’t he going to do it? It will be a huge break if he goes on there! He protests that he hates, really hates, doing shows. What does he mean. He followed her there without a word of complaint. He protests that he only came because she said it was her friend. Awkwardness arriving. Jung Woo adds that it's a friend's request so rejecting it might put her in an awkward position. His voice trails off at the end. Cheok Hee can’t help but smile at that.

She asks if he wants to go eat. She’s thankful that he helped her friend and she’s the type to repay her gratitude or humiliation. He agrees but then Soo Ah calls. He immediately runs off. Cheok Hee is really annoyed. He makes plans with her one minute before, but then rushes right over with just one phone call from Jo Soo Ah! She was crazy for suggesting to go get some food. Then she spots Han Mi Ri standing talking to someone.

A car arrives. Yoo Sang jumps out and puts a throw around Mi Ri’s shoulders. Very intimate. Cheok Hee remembers what they said at the interview about not knowing each other and him having to go out of town. Cheok Hee hides and uses her phone to take pictures.

Mi Ri goes out to the cemetery. She puts a script on a grave and tells someone that she’s going to start a drama. Back then, she couldn't even get a photo shoot. Now that she’s devoured her husband, work is going really well. CEO Aunt arrives. It’s Dong Goo’s grave. That’s odd. So maybe she did care? CEO Aunt puts down her flowers and tells Mi Ri that there are limits to being hateful. Now that Mi Ri’s received awards, starring in dramas, and are successful, is she now thankful to her dead husband? No matter how CEO Aunt think it's unfair that her brother has died, she’s forever thankful that he never has to see Mi Ri’s face again! She picks up the script and starts to rip it, telling Mi Ri not to even think about leaving things like it or coming there again! Aunt says that whenever she looks at Mi Ri’s face, that life... she wants to make Mi Ri fall to the depths of Hell. She throws the pieces at Mi Ri and calls her a shameless wench.

Soo Ah and Jung Woo are at a café. On the day of the accident, the people met that woman on the subway. They're coming there now. Jung Woo asks if he looks okay. Soo Ah laughs and asks why he’s nervous. It's not even like that woman's going to be here. He answers that they could perhaps know each other well. She reminds him not to forget his promise! After they find this peppermint lady, he said that he’ll do anything she asks, unless it's illegal. He grumbles and asks what she’s thinking. She doesn’t answer.

Much later, the people still haven’t arrived. The café is now empty. Jung Woo suggests that they go. Soo Ah is disappointed, but Jung Woo tries to remain hopeful. He suggests that they go to Mom and eat? How does ddeokboki (rice cakes), that she likes so much, sound? It’s really like she’s his sister and he’s the big brother trying to cheer her up. Soo Ah cheers up at the thought of ddeokboki.

The next day, Jung Woo arrives at work. Cheok Hee is waiting by the elevator and makes an annoyed face at him. He awkwardly walks over and apologizes, saying that something came up. Cheok Hee acts like it’s no big deal. She went and had fun doing whatever she wanted. He’s surprised but she sells it. She asks what he did with that person. They went somewhere, and then they ate. Cheok Hee mutters that she completely starved because of him. He heard her and feels bad, He suggests that they we eat together? He'll buy. She tries to be all casual as she agrees to do that. Phone call for Jung Woo. It’s Gi Soo. He walks off and she smiles, pleased.

Gi Soo hands Jung Woo the Divorce Settlement by Consent Application. So he couldn't do it after all. Jung Woo admits that he couldn't do it either. When he stood in front of the subway, that feeling of suffocation, he couldn't breathe. Gi Soo casually replies that he did it. He’s smiling now. Jung Woo pulls out the application and sees that it’s been torn in half. He asks Gi Soo how he did it. Gi Soo laughs and says that when he got home yesterday his wife handed it to him. That was much scarier than a kiss. He thought, dying is better than living without his wife. Once he had those thoughts, there was no chance for him to ponder over fear or anything else. Aw.

The Wife arrives, calling Gi Soo ‘Honey!’ She’s surprised to see Jung Woo. As she walks up, smiling, Gi Soo says that people or lips... In the end, what moves them is the heart. Because he thought, if it's not now, this person might leave. At the end of the day, he was able to do it. Wife smiles, obviously pleased that he *really* loves her. And she finally got some kissing.

Jung Woo goes to the metro station. He remembers Gi Soo’s words. The train is coming. PTSD flashback. Screaming. Jung Woo struggling to beat it. Screaming. He’s breathing hard. He runs into the train.

Cheok Hee is at work, trying to figure out where to go to eat with Jung Woo. Hamburger? Ah. No. No. You'll have to open your mouth too wide. Ossobuco? No. It's not like So Jung Woo has money.

She looks at her watch. But why isn't he coming? Perhaps, did he run away again? She calls him. She starts to yell at him but he pleads with her to save him. He’s starting to have a panic attack on the train and drops the phone. He starts pounding on the door. Cheok Hee rushes off to help him. She arrives to find him lying on a bench in the subway station. She asks if he’s okay. He weakly sits up and stutters that he just felt a little… just a little bit dizzy. She asks if he should go to the hospital. He replies that he just wants to go home and lie down but his feet won't bulge. She tells him to hold onto me and try standing up. It doesn’t really work.

Soo Ah has met Mom at her restaurant. She’s worried that Mom is going to ask her to move out. Instead Mom hands her an envelope of money to start paying her back for the law school money. Soo Ah declares that that’s scarier. It's like Mom’s drawing a line that she’s a stranger now. Mom replies that even with family, money matter is also something you have to draw a line for. Mom says that it’s probably going to take her 5 years to do it. Instead, Soo Ah takes out a little money and gives it back to Mom to cover the rent increase that just happens. The money she took, she plans on eating chicken with Jung Woo. She leaves before Mom can argue.

Cheok Hee and Jung Woo are still sitting in the metro station. She says his name a couple of times, but he’s non-reponsive. She says some nonsense words: Seasoned chicken. Valedictorian at school. Yeongdo Bridge. He weakly looks at her. She asks him if he’s ever seen a person die? Jung Woo weakly nods. She tells him that he you would know. That the thing more resilient than a weed is a person's life or whatnot... She declares that it’s a lie. If you die, you just die in an instant. Without warning. Without a sign. He looks over at her, but she's just looking straight ahead. When her mother passed away, it was so befuddling that her feet wouldn't move from the grave. Just like you right now. They look at each other. I’m a little misty.

She says that what she did was shout, "Seasoned chicken!"so that it would fill the whole cemetery. Then, "Valedictorian at school!" Then, "Yeongdo Bridge". Just like that, when she yelled about the things she likes, that's when her feet started to move. Jung Woo is considering this. Cheok Hee says that there are times when you can't do anything. Like when you're in a car stuck in traffic. In those times, you just think, when I get past here, there won't be any traffic. When I arrive, I should eat udon. That's how you hold on. Thinking about good things, and remembering the things you like. Jung Woo sighs.

Cheok Hee says winning the lotto, ossobucco, contingency fees. Family breakdown. Jung Woo groans and says she’s a materialist. Cheok Hee shoots back that it's a gift, family breakdown. (Korean word for materialist and gift sound similar). What? Should she be saying things like blue skies, the galaxy, deep mountain springs?

What about him? What does he like? Justice? World peace? Jung Woo answers: Nan Joong Il Gi? (a war diary written by General Lee Soon Shin during the Japanese Invasion of Korea, 1592-1598). She tells him he’s being lame. She stands in front of him and throws out ‘payday.’ Ossobuco! She holds out her hand and he takes it. As she pulls him to his feet, he tells her that she already said ossobuco. She knows. She’s saying it twice because she likes it. They start walking as Jung Woo asks if Cheok Hee really eats it because it's delicious? She replies that it makes a person look like they've got class.

Walking up the steps, Cheok Hee says, “High-rise residential complex, cheater.” They’re holding hands now. It’s sweet. Jung Woo chimes in: Growing old together. Lawyer. She’s surprised by that. He explains that Lee Hong Yeon was the first person who called me 'Lawyer.' It felt really great. Cheok Hee says, “Joan of Arc, blackout curtains.” Why does she like that? She says that it can keep the heat in so she likes it because it's warm. Which makes her comment about Jung Woo being a blackout curtain really mean something. It’s one of her favorite things. Squee. Jung Woo replies that he doesn't like it. They make him feel closed in. It's suffocating. They’re still holding hands.

They’ve reached the top of the steps. Jung Woo says his mother's kimchi. Girl's Day. She calls him a pervert. He wants to know why that makes him a pervert? Is there a man in South Korea who doesn't like girl groups? She marvels: he must have lived having those kind of thoughts in him, too. He tells her that he may not be a man to you, but everywhere he go, he’s also a man. The idea of seeing him as a man makes her try to pull her hand away, but Jung Woo groans, clenches his eyes shut and grabs on harder. He says South Korea. Egg rolls. Cheok Hee adds pojangmacha (street bars). Eel soup. Jung Woo starts to say peppermint candy, but they make it to the stairs at the exit. Jung Woo made it.

In the cab ride, Jung Woo fall asleep and starts to fall on Cheok Hee’s shoulder, but she stops his head with her hands. She sits there a minute and then looks at him. He opens his eyes and they look at each other, their faces two inches apart. Jung Woo’s phone rings. (It’s Soo Ah.)

♬ That one day, ♬

Cheok Hee pulls her hands away. Awkwardness. Just kiss her, man!

♬ The day when you came to me, that day ♬

Now, outside the taxi, Jung Woo tells her that today his condition is a little not so good. He’s not that weak of a person to be collapsing. She tells him, of course not! Why would weak people collapse? Before they collapse, they already give up. It's the strong people who collapse. After holding on as much as they can. She tells him to go inside. He grabs her wrist and tells her thanks, just as Soo Ah arrives.

♬ When the seasons change, ♬
♬ When it becomes bluer, ♬
♬ Could I forget it, ♬

She calls out Jung Woo’s name. Slowly, he lets go of Cheok Hee’s arm. Soo Ah asks him what’s wrong. Cheok Hee says that Jung Woo’s body must not be feeling well. He lost his conciousness a little in the subway, so she bought him home. Soo Ah knows what that means and is alarmed. Is he okay? She puts her hand through his arm. Cheok Hee notices and decides to go. Soo Ah tells her to hold on. She goes over and pays for the taxi as thanks for dropping Jung Woo off. Jung Woo feels a little weird but he’s still so dazed that he just lets Soo Ah walk him inside. Cheok Hee is really hurt by it. Reluctantly, she gets in the taxi.

Soo Ah brings Jung Woo a health drink. He tells her that he’s fine. She sits beside him and asks why he got on the subway. Just because. He wanted to try it. Soo Ah tells him that he should have gone with her… Did he and Go Cheok Hee go together? Jung Woo says that it was just a coincidence. He was alone in the subway and she called... She mentions chicken and Jung Woo says that he could eat. She asks what he wants. He smiles and says, “Seasoned chicken.” And we know what that means.

Cheok Hee is over a Min Kyu’s. they’re watching a news report. He asks her about riding the train they’re looking at with him. Rather forcefully, she declares that she doesn't want to. He’s a bit taken aback. Why? She doesn't like it. Because of motion sickness. What’s the real reason? Min Kyu thinks it’s weird that she can get motion sickness riding the train.

Min Kyu goes and grabs a box with one of the keys in it. When did he get them back? How did he get them back? He asks her if it will work. Min Kyu suggests that they go on the yacht on Wednesday. Cheok Hee answers that the program that Jung Woo filmed airs on that day. Almost grumbling, Min Kyu says that it's the same thing whether you wear glasses or wear contact lens. Why would you watch a face you see everyday on TV? She replies that It's also an office manager's job to monitor a lawyer's work. Min Kyu sighs and says that they should go after the show. He’ll get the ossobuco that she so likes. At the mention of ossobuco, she in. Cheok Hee asks where he got the yacht. He replies that she gave it to him. Pretty much. She doesn’t question that at all.

Law Office. Jung Woo heads for the kitchen and bangs his shin on the flower heart. Can't they throw this away? Because it's in the way, he can't get around here! Yoo Mi shakes her head. Jung Sook tenderly pats her chest and says that her heart also wants to throw it away but it won't fit in the trash. Just to get rid of that, they can't call a person. Cheok Hee announces that she’ll get rid of it. She tries to move it, but it’s too heavy.

I was just wondering about him. Man from the car accident enters. Two casts, a neck brace, and a skull cap. In the conference room, Man says that he had an accident. And also because of that, he wants want to divorce his wife. Not long ago, they went to the cemetery. On their way back, for some unknown reason, she was driving unbelievably fast. And then, she suddenly just turned the car around toward a utility pole! What's even stranger is that, he’s severely injured like this, but she was unscathed. It's strange that she suddenly turned the steering wheel when there was nothing there, too.

Jung Woo suggests that there must have been someone crossing or something must have been on the road. Man is vehement that there was nothing! He says that Wife said that she was distracted because our kid who was staying with his parents was sick at that time. But this kind of accident is not the first. A few months ago, they were happily walking along the street. Suddenly wife shoves him into the street and a motorcyclist ran over his leg and broke it. Wife was horrified. Even then, she said that there was something disgusting on the road, so she pushed him to stop him from stepping in it. No matter how he looks at it, it's weird. She did it on purpose.

Husband pulls out his Life Insurance policy for 300,000,000W. He says that Wife got it without him knowing about it. He only found out because the insurance company sent someone to the hospital yesterday. Reassuringly, Jung Woo says that an accident can happen anytime. Did he ask Wife directly? Husband sighs.

After he leaves, the group is discussing the case. Yoo Mi calls it insurance fraud. Cheok Hee declares that no matter what the reason is, the husband's heart has already left. If he was determined to come here while he looked like that and was admitted to the hospital, that says it all. If he makes up his mind, tell him to contact us anytime. She will personally go to the hospital to make the contract.

Min Kyu arrives and Jung Sook is surprised. He’s at work? She thought he would be spending time with Ok San at the horse ranch. Min Kyu says that he heard that today is the day Jung Woo’s show airs. They should all watch it at his house/ Big smile. Yoo Mi is definitely in.

Jung Woo is a bit intimidated by the place Min Kyu lives. He asks Cheok Hee if this is really where she lives. She says that it is. Min Kyu lives next to her. Jung Woo is stunned and says that the two of them must be ready for a family! He huffs at her and walks off. She’s annoyed. Look who's talking when he's living with Jo Soo Ah!

Min Kyu is trying to get in the door, but his password is incorrect. After the fourth try, he explains that he changed the password yesterday. He must have forgotten it. He is doing that on purpose. Yoo Mi looks at her phone and says that it’s almost starting. Cheok Hee glances over at Jung Woo and he’s starting to look miserable. She suggests they go to her place. Which is right across the hall. Jung Woo grimaces as everyone heads into her apartment. She notices that he’s less than happy.

Cheok Hee is in the kitchen. Both Min Kyu and Jung Woo are watching her. Jung Sook grabs what she thinks is a blanket, but it’s a man’s coat. Min Kyu apologizes for things being messy. Is Jung Woo pouting now? He looks over and notices the lips pillow on the floor under Min Kyu’s seat. He pulls it out and puts it over by the TV. Yoo Mi asks Jung Woo if he wants a beer. He says “Eel tonic.” Yoo Mi wonders why Cheok Hee would have that, but Min Kyu is not happy, because he knows that she has it.

Cheok Hee brings out the drinks and hands him eel tonic. He takes it happily. Yoo Mi can’t believe Cheok Hee had some. Jung Woo opens it and chugs it. He loudly declares that he likes it, holding his arm out like he’s a strong man. Cheok Hee can’t believe him. He said that he couldn’t drink it last time. He remembers that bottle of Soju that her father and him didn't finish last time. Can she bring him that? And then he tries not to gag on the eel tonic. She goes to get it.

Kyung can’t believe that Jung Woo has been there before. He’s had a drink with Cheok Hee's father? Min Kyu does not look happy. Jung Woo says that her father gave him things because he worked hard. He was Abeoji’s drinking buddy for a couple of times. Cheok Hee comes back and offers him a peppermint candy, since he said he liked peppermint candy in the subway. Min Kyu asks Cheok Hee if she rode the subway? The two of them? Jung Woo chimes up that they were together till the subway cut off. Right? Min Kyu looks at Cheok Hee and protests that she said that she couldn't because of her motion sickness. Cheok Hee stutters as she comes up with how she got over it. They just went to the subway station. Jung Woo looks over at Min Kyu, pleased.

The program is starting. Yoo Mi marvels at how good Jung Woo looks on screen. Kyung tells his Hyung that he really looks like a celebrity. Min Kyu says that that's nothing. He asks Jung Sook if she remember when the law to criminalize people for soliciting sex under the false pretense of marriage was abolished? He was on the news. No one is paying attention.

Yoo Mi gasps. They said that Jung Woo has a smile that can make girls pregnant! Jung Woo hides his smile. The Subtitle: People could get pregnant just by looking at his smile; Pregnant smile, Lawyer So Jung Woo. Cheok Hee remarks that the subtitle saved him. Jung Sook says that they should put him on our banner for the law firm. She stops when she sees Min Kyu isn’t happy.

Soo Ah calls. Now Cheok Hee’s not happy. At work, Mom is bragging over him with her customers. Soo Ah is there. He starts to say something about Mom, but gets up and heads into the bedroom for some privacy. Cheok Hee really not happy.

The conversation doesn’t last long. Jung Woo hangs up the phone and notices all the men’s stuff around. Including the pillow on the bed. He grabs Min Kyu’s pillow off the bed and starts stomping on it. Cheok Hee happens to come in while he’s doing it. He’s busted. He makes up a lame excuse that there was a lot of dust on this pillow. She doesn’t buy it. If he doesn't like it, he can say it with words. Why is he touching her things?

She reaches down and pulls the pillow out from under his feet, which makes him lose his balance. He grabs her and they both end up falling on the bed, with her on top of him. They look at each other and she doesn’t move.

♬ I'm confused. I keep thinking about you. Even your way of talking and expressions ♬
♬ We are like Tom and Jerry. Anything will make you pouty. ♬
♬ La la la la la la la la la ♬
♬ Something feels different ♬

Min Kyu calls her name and she gets up and exits. Jung Woo just lies there.

♬ Sweet darling. ♬
♬ Baby. Look only at me. ♬
♬ I'm excited, darling. I love you. ♬
♬ You are my melted pistachio ♬

Jung Woo grabs at his heart as he lies there.

Everyone is going home. They’re teasing him about his baby-inducing smile. As the taxi leaves, Jung Woo gets another call from Husband, who is in the hospital. He’s been in another accident. His wife is trying to kill him! He hangs up and when Cheok Hee asks, he says that Husband almost died because his wife pushed him in his wheelchair this afternoon. He tells Cheok Hee that they should go. Min Kyu responds that Cheok Hee already has plans. She planned to go on a yacht with him.

Cheok Hee starts to squirm but then she remembers that Sunbae – not Oppa – can't get into his house! He has no car keys either! It seems they can't go, right? Min Kyu says that they can just take the subway. Jung Woo makes a face. Cheok Hee can’t believe Sunbae would take the subway. He says that’s what he likes most about dating her. He gets to try to new things he’s never done before. Annoyed, Jung Woo says that Cheok Hee was the one who said she would go visit him at the hospital with the contract. Go Cheok Hee places more importance on work than anything else in the world. Min Kyu replies that Cheok Hee finds him more important than anything else in the world now. He leans over and reminders that he’s her boyfriend.

Min Kyu says they should go. Ossobuco will get cold. Even though you said earlier that Cheok Hee would eat it even if it was cold. A wrist grab to guide her away. Jung Woo says they should go. Their client is waiting. Min Kyu and Jung Woo look at each other. Cheok Hee has to choose Min Kyu. She says that today, she already had plans with Sunbae. Jung Woo should go and check it out. If it's something he can't sort out, then she’ll go again tomorrow. She’s sorry but, today he should please go by himself. Min Kyu can’t help but smile that she chose him. He takes Cheok Hee’s hand and walks her away. She turns to look back at Jung Woo as she goes.

New song.

♬ Beyond my two eyes, ♬
♬ I see you far away ♬

Jung Woo sighs, completely discouraged.

Min Kyu is worrying about taking the subway. Cheok Hee is definitely regretting not going with Jung Woo.

As Jung Woo slowly heads to the hospital, he walks past a restaurant selling ossobuco. He thinks of them in the subway. He shakes his head. A little further, there’s an add for a romantic yacht trip. “Tonight, your love will be complete.” He sighs and asks himself why he can't take any more steps? He rubs his hurting heart. He starts naming off things that he likes so he can start walking again: Nan Joong Il Gi (diary of Korean Admiral Yi Sun Sin). Egg rolls. Peppermint candy. He starts walking again.

♬ When everything fades away, will I be able to forget you? ♬

Then he stops again because a street vendor is selling a Chucky doll.

Jung Woo heads off running for the subway. He sees Cheok Hee in the distance and then he starts to freak out, but he thinks of Gi Soo’s words. “Because I thought, if it's not now, this person might leave. At the end of the day, I was able to do it.” He pushes himself to go through the turnstile and head down into the subway.

He catches then as they board the subway train. She’s surprised. He’s panting, but he tells her not to go. He repeats the request, more forcefully. An angry sunbae and boss, Min Kyu asks what he’s doing right now? She asks him why. He answers Nan Joong Il Gi. Min Kyu looks at him like he's crazy. Jung Woo continues: Egg rolls. Peppermint candy.

The doors close before he says it: Go Cheok Hee. And he rips my guts out! Right there! Episode ends on Jung Woo’s sad face.

Thoughts

They are moving full steam ahead with the romance! It’s only episode 6 (of 16) and he’s already realized that he’s in love. Happy dance by me.

There was a lot that I really loved about this episode. The puckering lips from saying olive oil. As always, the way that Jo Yeo Jung and Yun Woo Jin go for sincerely selling the physical comedy. Helping Jung Woo out of the subway. Jung Woo being competitive over at Cheok Hee’s house.

Their relationship has definitely evolved. They’ve begun to be a really good team and complement each other well. If Jung Woo had had his ‘incident’ back in episode 2 or 3, there’s no way she would have come to his aid or rushes off to help him. And I already said it a few sentences ago, but the fact that Go Cheok Hee is part of Jung Woo’s happy place, that gets me.

I am wondering what Min Kyu is thinking, though. He is so unreadable. And based on the previews, he’s going to ask Cheok Hee to date for real. What about your fiancée, Min Kyu? Is your father going to just keep overlooking your disrespect if you shame the niece of CEO Aunt?

And what is going on with Mi Ri? Why would she go visit her husband’s grave? Talk to him like she loved and missed him? How is Cheok Hee going to use those pictures she took of Mi Ri and Yoo Sang’s intimate moment?

How long is Cheok Hee going to think that Jung Woo and Soo Ah are dating? Especially with Jung Woo continuing to act like he’s in love with her? How long is Soo Ah going to hold onto this affection, when Jung Woo isn’t going to fall in love with her? Their relationship is more like brother and sister. What else can they throw at this couple? And what’s going to happen with CEO Aunt and how is Cheok Hee going to get her license back, since that’s going to happen before this is all said and done.
